Plundering the mountains...

In the past few years, we have been watching helplessly as people have been indiscriminately cutting down trees. What used to be an annual cycle a few years ago, is now almost a daily affair. Almost every time we go down the mountain, we see truck loads of wood being cut and taken down.

Near the village where we live, there were three very large trees, possibly more than a hundred years ago. Two of them have been cut down this past month, and I fear the third one too is going to be cut down.

Here are some more pictures of logs of wood cut and ready to be hauled away.

Who should we approach? Who should we complain to? How else can we stop this plunder? At this rate, much of these mountains will be rendered treeless and rainless in just a few more years.

Can you help in any way?
