When it rains, it pours...

In my last post, I'd mentioned about one of our cows, Brownie, having a calf. Well, that seemed to have opened the floodgates...

July 23 this year was Chinnu, as posted earlier.

Chinnu, just a few days old
Chinnu, much bigger today

Then came Buttercup's turn on September 11....this was a real surprise, since we didn't even know she was pregnant, until about 10 days before she gave birth.

Persy (for Persistence),

On September 20th, it was Shanti that gave birth to yet another female calf.

This little one is yet to be named

And on October 8th, it was our Bagya's turn to deliver her calf.

The three other calves come to greet the newest kid on the block

Interestingly, Bagya's calf (also not yet named) is the first male out of 10 that have been born so far in our farm.

The biggest joy and blessing is to watch the four calves frolic in the mornings and evenings, when they have had their drink and full of energy.
