A rugged, modern-day mule, 4x4 version

The Bolero Camper has been a reliable companion for the last couple of years, and has hauled everything we have taken up during this time. Here are a variety of loads it has happily carried up the hills!

We had forgotten to take pictures of some of the other important loads that it carried - our cow and calf, two of the tank workers AND their motorbike which had broken down, the hand tiller, a genset, and not to forget more than 200 bags of cement and 25 units of sand and metal.

If Mahindra wanted a true-life advertisement for the camper, these pictures would do pretty well!

Our very own skating rink...

Well, yes, it is really a drying yard, meant for drying out coffee and pepper. For us, though, the primary use of the drying yard is as a skating rink and play area for our children. During the long and difficult process of getting this built, I have often asked myself, "Is it worth this effort?"

The answer to that was very evident as soon as it was built and allowed to cure sufficiently. The pictures below of the kids enjoying it are worth a thousand words of explanation!

And not just skating, but simply to have a place for all of them to sit down together and enjoy a meal in the open is a simple pleasure :-)

Our kids are paying a price to be up in the farm, but we're thankful that they have a great compensation of getting their own skating rink right by the house!!

While our photo documentation has not been very thorough, I did find some old pictures of what this drying yard was like, and some of the steps in making it into a flat surface.
