Well, yes, it is really a drying yard, meant for drying out coffee and pepper. For us, though, the primary use of the drying yard is as a skating rink and play area for our children. During the long and difficult process of getting this built, I have often asked myself, "Is it worth this effort?"
The answer to that was very evident as soon as it was built and allowed to cure sufficiently. The pictures below of the kids enjoying it are worth a thousand words of explanation!

And not just skating, but simply to have a place for all of them to sit down together and enjoy a meal in the open is a simple pleasure :-)
Our kids are paying a price to be up in the farm, but we're thankful that they have a great compensation of getting their own skating rink right by the house!!
While our photo documentation has not been very thorough, I did find some old pictures of what this drying yard was like, and some of the steps in making it into a flat surface.
